Preview of the weekend fixtures – 2nd & 3rd February

31st January 2019 0 Preview

On Saturday the first team travel the relatively short distance to play Crawley Down Gatwick in the SCFL Premier Division. Both teams have had a pretty good season so far, the Bears currently in 6th place with the Anvils one place and one point below, so the home side will be looking to leapfrog Heath with a win while Steve Painter’s side will be hoping to keep pushing for a top 6 position.

Plenty of goals when the two sides met back in August with Heath winning by the narrowest of margins in a 5-4 thriller, the Bears led 5-2 up at one stage through Max Howell (2), Devon Fender (2) and George Cousins before two late goals for the visitors led to a nervy finish for Heath supporters.

Ollie Moore will complete his 3 match suspension but is sure to be at the game cheering the team on; Lee Carney could be back in contention having missed last week’s match through injury. The hosts will be missing a former Heath favourite, Michael Wood, who was surprisingly sent off last week, not like him but thoroughly deserved according to his dad.

The Kick Off is at 3pm, post code RH10 4LJ and then back to the Village Centre for a few bevvies.

No game for the Reserves this weekend but if you need your footy fix and can’t make the game on Saturday then pop down to Steyning Sunday morning to support the Under 18s in a SCFL Central Division fixture. Kick Off 11am.

Come on you Bears!
