Under 23’s Pagham vs Broadbridge Heath
Wasn’t the greatest start to the evenings proceedings as we arrived late to Pagham’s ground due to traffic problems.
Broadbridge Heath soon put the late arrival behind them, with a quick start and a smart finish within 2 minutes from Thomas Shergold. The left footed shot lifted over the goalkeeper. There was a moment’s hesitation from the referee whether it cleared the line, but after conferring with the linesman the goal was confirmed 0-1 to BBH.
First-half continued BBH were keeping the ball well and created several more chances, but were unable to convert them.
Heath wanted to build on their first half performance. Their wishes were granted after some good build up play. Decent pass from u18 Adam Edwards through to Jake Hull who put the ball into the back of the net, with only 7 minutes of the second half played (0-2).
Pagham rallied and put plenty of pressure on BBH defence creating themselves a few chances but unable to find the final ball. The Bears defence stayed strong and dealt with most of these attacks well.
Late on in the game BBH found themselves down to 10 men after a second yellow was shown to Kyle Sim.
Nice little run being put together by the U23s now unbeaten in 4, moving up to 6th in the league after a slow start this season.
